E-Commerce Operations · Onboarding & Implementation

Here is a little background

I started in e-commerce with a phone-book-sized parts catalog and a Volusion admin panel, picking parts and putting them on the website, all day, every day. Not a glamorous origin story, but it's the reason a 900K-SKU catalog with inconsistent supplier feeds doesn't intimidate me. I've built one by hand. From there I went looking for the rest of the business. I moved into the shipping department because I wanted to understand fulfillment, and ended up leading it. That turned into shipping and purchasing management, which turned into running e-commerce operations outright. That's the work I know best. Shopify and Amazon catalogs, marketplace channels, inventory and pricing logic, product data, merchandising, site performance, and the reporting leadership actually reads. I've grown a Shopify store 150% in nine months, and I've spent a year clearing 80 unauthorized sellers off a brand's top Amazon listing to get the Buy Box back. The technical half came along because the operations problems kept turning into technical ones. Day to day that looks like reading logs and API responses to find root cause, and writing requirements an engineering team can build from. I've been the customer, the operator, and the vendor. When a client describes their process badly, I usually know what they mean, because I've run that process myself.

  • Own client implementations end-to-end: kickoff and discovery, statement of work, channel launch, handoff to support. 20+ delivered, as many as 10 concurrent, as the platform’s only onboarding specialist since early 2026.
  • Trained an external agency to deliver onboardings independently: wrote the runbooks and process documentation, then ran the live training.
  • Handle the platform’s most complex catalogs: automotive and powersports, up to 900K SKUs with fitment data and supplier feeds that rarely match their stated schema.
  • Translate how a client runs their business into platform configuration and custom automation, and write the technical requirements engineering builds from: data mapping, bulk imports, channel requirements, inventory and pricing logic, order routing.
  • Built an AI-assisted workflow for the repeatable parts of onboarding: data transformation scripts for supplier feeds, first-draft requirements docs and client runbooks, and faster log triage, with output validated against live client data before it ships.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex implementations, diagnosing failures across marketplaces, storefronts, supplier feeds, and imports through logs and API behavior to isolate root cause rather than symptoms.
  • Join sales calls as the technical resource: scope prospect requirements, answer feasibility questions, and flag what will and won’t work before it becomes a signed commitment.

  • Shut down 80 unauthorized sellers who had hijacked our top Amazon listing, shipping a cheaper substitute product under our brand and holding the Buy Box at well below our price. Recovered roughly $200K per month in margin on that listing.
  • Built the case over a year: test-purchased from every seller to prove the substitution before filing, then enrolled the brand in Amazon Transparency so the listing could not be hijacked again.
  • Doubled page speed, cut media file sizes 90%, and reached WCAG compliance in under three weeks.

Getting a brand's Amazon listing back

Case Study 1 of 2 : Getting a brand's Amazon listing back

Amazon

Eighty unauthorized sellers had taken over the brand's top Amazon listing. They were shipping a cheaper substitute product against our listing at well below our price, which meant we lost the Buy Box on our own product and customers were ordering from us and receiving something else.

Complaints without evidence get rejected, so I built the case properly: test-purchased from every one of the eighty sellers to document the substitution, tracked all of it, and filed with proof. The count went to zero, and recovered roughly $200K per month in margin on that listing.

Then I enrolled the brand in Amazon Transparency, so the listing couldn't be taken over again. Enforcement is a treadmill. Authentication is a fix.

Growing an e-commerce store 150%

ShopifyNext.jsTailwind CSSContentful CMS

I owned e-commerce, web engineering, and internal IT for a company building custom Mercedes Sprinter motorhomes.

Shopify sales grew 150% over nine months. That came from catalog and product data work, SEO, storefront speed, and answering buyers directly instead of making them wait. I was fielding the same questions on the phone all day, so I put the answers on the product pages. Buyers could get what they needed at midnight instead of waiting for a Monday callback.

Separately, their corporate site was a monolithic WordPress install that was slow where most of the traffic was, on mobile. I rebuilt it as a headless Next.js application with Contentful behind it, which cut load times and sent better-qualified traffic to the store.
